Who uses an approval letter
Most travellers find the e-Visa easier. The approval letter is the route we use for passports we cannot apply for through the e-Visa, including most African nationalities and Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Sri Lanka and Lebanon. Our nationality checker tells you which route fits your passport.
How it works
- Apply online with your passport details, arrival date and arrival airport.
- Receive the approval letter by email and print it.
- Bring two passport photos (4x6 cm) and cash in US dollars for the stamping fee.
- On arrival, go to the landing-visa desk before immigration, pay the fee and collect your visa sticker.
Costs
- Service fee for the approval letter, paid online when you apply. Ask for a quote for your nationality.
- Stamping fee paid at the airport: US$25 for single entry or US$50 for multiple entry, in cash.
Limits to know
- Visa on arrival only works at international airports, never at land borders or seaports.
- Airlines check for the letter before you board, so keep a printed copy with your passport.
- Queues at the landing-visa desk can be long at busy times. A fast-track service can help.
